It’s Halloween time! If you’re sick of all of the Paranormal Activities and Insidiouses clogging the theaters, you can bypass the popcorn set and get some cheap thrills from the comfort of your couch. As of today you can acquire a big bucket of nostalgia or – as the Heroes of Cosplay set calls them – a “nostalgia bomb” with Curse of Chucky, a sequel of the 80’s classic jump-out-and-slash-you Child’s Play. It’s absolutely guaranteed to have 75% less Jennifer Tilly than previous sequels. So, it does have some Jennifer Tilly in it. Available October 8th on Blu Ray, DVD and digital download.
Will it be brilliant? Not likely. Preview clips I’ve seen paint it as being a competent DTV return to more of the same, and they have Brad Dorif reprising his role as the voice of Chucky! That’s good enough for me! Minor quibble? The CGI Chucky looks like somebody pissed off Peppermint Patty.
